![]() So since I have extra ITX B550 Ryzen hardware laying around I've decided to use that and make my own mini-firewall, as it would still be better than a mini pc for updates since B550 will still be supported decently longer and way better for performance. Only one I saw decent in that regard was Protectli, but they are extremely expensive, and since I have a bunch of 2.5G systems, I wanted to go with 2.5G nics. I was initially going to buy a cheap mini PC with NICs but decided against that for security concerns (Almost none of these cheap chinese Mini PCs have websites or provide firmware/bios updates which is very important for bug fixes and security patches). So, I am in need of a high performance firewall, and OPNSense seems to be the go-to for that, however, I am having trouble deciding on hardware. EDIT: Thanks guys! Since this is BSD it sounds like Intel is way better on it, so I'll be going for the Intel QNAP Quad 2.5G network card ![]()
